Last night we had the honor to host the OC Premier or Anthill's "Anytime" at the Rivian South Coast Theater. With the help from our friends at Coast Film Festival, the packed house enjoyed an incredible show.
Anytime covers fifteen of the current top riders in our sport, with amazing cinematography and an awesome soundtrack. And what better place to share this work of art, than where the freeride movement all started with our own Laguna Rads 41 years ago.
The theme of the evening was Trail Heroes. The Rads, for bringing the sport to our coastal village. Our friends at Shimano, for sponsoring, but moreover for their four decade commitment to the sport eclipsed with their recent Trail Born commitment. 40+ years of great components, 40+ years of community support and 40+ years of dedication to the places we ride. And we were stoked to share OCMTBA is already working on the first Trail Born project right here in our neighborhood.
Before we ran the movie, we brought up some of our own OC Trail Heroes. These folks are the fabric of our community, every one of them knows how to handle a McLeod and yet does so much more. The MTB family love was felt by one and all.
Left to Right:
Kurt Wiemann, OCMTBA officer and "Good Dirt" Kurt
Lorie Still, OCMTBA officer and Girls Gone Riding leadership
Jim Foley, OCMTBA officer and OCMB founder
Sidney Harris, thinkMTB leader
Jon & Missy Kearley, Non-Dot Adventures founders
Dan Eitman, former Share officer
Steve Larson, former Share President (our predecessor entity)
Chris Taylor, Trail Angels leader
Air Blair Liggatt, Laguna Canyon Riders coach and Laguna Bike Fest founder
Tony Zentil, founder of Laguna Canyon Riders, Laguna Dirt Fondo and Fix Manufacturing
Fiona Peterson and Mike Lee, Laguna Canyon Riders coaches and the birthday boy!
See here's the thing, these amazing people bleed and sweat for our passion, to make the OC MTB experience everything it can be. We are blessed to have a community like this, to have supporters like Shimano, Rivian and Coast Film, to have a history like the Rads...and we want to this legacy to live on for the next generations of riders too.
So join the Trail Movement, jump on a Trail Born project, become a Trail Hero too...we can't wait to have you in the family!
