That was a blast!

Good Dirt Ride 2025 is in the books, and it was fantastic. 524 of our bike family joined up to enjoy 10, 15, 25 or 50 mile routes, splashing through numerous water crossings and smiling all the way to the finish line.

Post ride we hit the expo area to visit with the multitude of vendors or partake in fun activities like The Bike Co - Selmas - Brian Lopes track stand competition. And, of course, the food trucks and Docent Brewing sponsored beer tent replenished the crowd with MTB favorites. There were almost seventy independent business sponsor behind the HUGE opportunity drawing. We want to express our gratitude to all, and to make sure and recognize our grand prize supporters: Pure Ride Cycle, Rock n Road MV, Cannondale, HB Velo, GT Bicycles and Laguna Bike Shed, The Ranch Laguna Beach, The Boyer Ranch, DB Media and custom art from our community's own Dave Crowe.

We also want to extend our appreciation for the GDR planning committee and the army of volunteers that make the biggest MTB party in Orange County possible. Special thanks to Jim, Mike, Sue, Tim, Bow, Lorie, Suzi, Adam, Paul, Steve, Sidney, Mike & Jeff for their leadership and to the well over sixty folks that contributed time to support your ride. And most of all, to Kurt & Kim, the soul of it all - GDR exists because of them and their herculean effort!

This event has been hosted eighteen times now, four since our VP Good Dirt Kurt took the baton from Mr. Doug Grant. It continues to respect the legacy charitable interest with the majority of the fundraising going to Team Africa Rising. And thanks to our local community, your participation has fed a donation of almost $5,000 per year for your own OC trails.

With this gracious support, we are able to do things like providing the formal designs for bike park facilities such as the San Clemente project, to offer trail building grants for new wilderness spaces such as that in process Gateway Preserve, and to supply tools, bikes and trailers to support the multitude of volunteer driven trail work days over the course of the year.
