Christmas is for family

Updated: 19 hours ago

And we've got an amazing one...every year our MTB community comes together to share the spirit of the season, and we do it right here in Orange County! Our crew took part in just a few of the activities, and we wanted to share them with you.

Weekend before last a bunch of us gathered at the Troy Lee Designs store in Laguna Beach. Lots of cool riders, some you might recognize more than others. Troy himself, who also custom lettered helmets for a lucky few (now that's a Christmas gift!), Brian Lopes, and Laguna Canyon Riders coach Air Blair just to name a few. Many a hiker or biker was greeted with a "Merry Christmas" as we adventured the trails before returning to the store for some seasonal fun.

Then middle of last week, we joined everyone at Selma's for their annual Ladera Christmas Lights ride. The crowd for this one was big and the stoke high as we really started to move into the "jingle bells" mode. The neighborhoods were decorated to the hilt, as was the city park. And afterwords participants were graciously met with an awesome pasta meal on - Eric and crew are such amazing contributors to our MTB community.

This past weekend the fun continued with the GenerationMTB ride and toy drive at Santiago Oaks. For those that are tracking, Orange County has become a bit bigger with our support of Corona MTB the trail group that is taking care of the Skyline and Troy Lee systems. Austin and his crew are part of this, and also great leaders in focusing on what the season is about - gathering a slew of toys to go to kids via EVA MTB (you can donate too!). There were smiles on the trails, at the BBQ after and we know there will be on some children's faces very soon - way to go guys!

To continue the fun, last night we joined The Path on their Holiday Lights Ride. Tani and crew have been doing this for years, we could probably say they set the tradition. It's always a great gathering, hot cider and cookies and then to the streets to check out the decorations. Everyone comes out, families, friends and even a few rolling Christmas Trees this year. Nothing warms the heart more than riding through the neighborhoods greeting and being cheered on by the fine folks in the Tustin area.

And here's the coolest part, these are just some of the things our family does to herald in this most special time of the year. Many of the amazing social clubs are hosting their own gatherings and reveling in the gift that is our very special community. TLD, Selma's, Generation MTB, The Path...these are just a few shining examples of what makes where we ride the best place in the world. And that my friends, is one great gift in a season where we celebrate the greatest gift of all. Merry Christmas!
